Welcome to Seca Venezuela's website. Seca owns a very modern and compact kiln drying and planing mill. The mill is capable of drying and conditioning all types of wood very efficiently to any final moisture content. The plant is fitted with six double track loaded chambers of 14m long by 8m wide. Kilns are thermal oil heated with a heating capacity of 12000kcal per m³. The working temperature range is 40°C to 150ºC with a precision of +/- 1.5ºC, fan outputs a maximum wind velocity between the boards of 9 meters per second, hot water is spray for conditioning and humidity control measure by Equilibrium Moisture Content by cellulose waffle. Each chamber has capacity of 100m³ of 25mm lumber with separators stick of 25mm. Kilns are loaded by rail with a 75 ton transfer allowing a total loading or unloading time of only 10 minutes. Thermal oil is heated by two oil heaters that burns natural gas and/or wood waste totaling and output of 7 million kcal per hour. All kilns and boilers are remotely and independently control by computer in a air conditioned control office with a panoramic view of the entire plant. The computer controls allows schedules to be adjusted by Drying Gradient, Internal Wood Moisture, time or combination of all. Machinery are custom built from Germany, Italy and Venezuela to Seca specifications and design.
The auto fed S4S planning line was bought reconditioned and was not install but the Newman M512 planner is capable of surfacing 100 linear meters per minute with a 40cm by 20cm capacity. All the line equipment is made in U.S.A.
Moving equipment is perfect conditions it consist of two Komatsu diesel fork lift with side shifts. 6 and 3.5 metric ton capacity.
Land is approximately 9000m² were 3000m² are undeveloped and 6000m² are completely develop, kilns are made of special masonry, expanded ceramic and foam sandwich of ultra high R rating, with all fitting and equipment in stainless still and aluminum. the six kiln covers a 870m² area. the plant has a modern 400m² three stories office building, that holds a research laboratory with a down scale thermal oil heated computer control kiln of 1m³. This building also holds dressing and bathrooms, spare parts warehouse, sleeping quarters for special personnel, offices and control room. The modern design of the building is by a famous Venezuelan architect, Mr. Fruto Vivas. Also there is another multiple purpose two story guard house and a 2400m². The complete installation has automatic fire sprinkles and over a protective, neat and easy to service electrical and pluming. In total is the easiest to keep low maintenance plant.
The plant is actually running and is drying more than 6 different species as a service, but it really concentrates the efforts in a Mahogany type Wood (Bombacopsis Quinata) and a Caribbean Pine (Pinus Caribaea). The plant is in top shape conditions, very well kept.
